A. Caring for HIV Positive People (CHIVPP)
In the month of January, Friends Women's Association (FWA) and its Ntaseka Clinic provided medical follow-up and home visits for HIV positive people. The program continues to ensure that all patients receive consistent care, medication adherence support, and nutritional guidance to maintain their health and well-being.
Key Achievement
330 HIV+ patients under active care and treatment at Ntaseka Clinic, with ongoing medical follow-up and home visits to ensure medication adherence and well-being across all enrolled patients.
B. Maternity Ward Building
Ntaseka Clinic's Maternity Ward supplies baby delivery services and care needed for pregnant women, new mothers and newborn babies. In the month of January, two babies were born at Ntaseka clinic, bringing new hope and joy to families in the Kamenge community.
Although the Clinic's maternity ward still needs some medical equipment, hospitalization services are functional. The maternity ward remains a vital resource for women in the Kamenge community and beyond, providing essential maternal healthcare services.
C. Improving Women's Reproductive Health (IWRH)
FWA staff and FWA community health workers continued educating both men and women on the importance of family planning. On January 10, 2026, FWA conducted an awareness workshop on sexual and reproductive health for 50 young people in the Kamenge community.
The workshop focused on empowering young people with knowledge about reproductive health, family planning options, HIV prevention, and the importance of making informed decisions about their bodies and futures. This youth-focused initiative aims to prevent early pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections among the younger generation.
"Before the workshop, I had so many questions about my body and health that I was too embarrassed to ask. The facilitators created a safe space where we could learn without judgment. Now I feel confident making decisions about my health and future."

E. HROC Workshop (Healing and Reconciliation)
From January 28-30, 2026, FWA conducted a three-day Healing and Reconciliation (HROC) workshop for GBV survivors. This workshop uses a trauma-healing model that combines psychosocial support with reconciliation processes, helping survivors find peace and rebuild their lives.
The HROC approach is grounded in the belief that healing happens through sharing stories, building community support, and finding forgiveness — both for others and for oneself. Participants learn to process their trauma in a safe, supportive environment.
"For years, I carried anger and bitterness toward the person who hurt me. During the HROC workshop, I learned that forgiveness is not about condoning what happened — it's about freeing myself from the pain. I now feel lighter and more hopeful about my future."

F. Women's Socio-Economic Empowerment Center
The FWA has continued the construction of the Women's Socio Economic Empowerment Center (WSEEC). The aim of this project is to avail training rooms and a temporary safe shelter for gender-based violence survivors at the FWA headquarters.
